Description of Peddinghaus MDL 1000 Ocean Avenger

Peddinghaus MDL 1000 Ocean Avenger drill line for steel construction.

The single-spindle drilling machine Peddinghaus Ocean Avenger II MDL-1000/1B from year of manufacture 2006, was developed for small steel construction companies and is suitable for drilling and marking of flat bars, Channels, square and rectangular tubes and pipes, angles, welded built up sections, pre-cambered beams and double T- beams.
It has a free-standing control panel with a Siemens CNc Control.
The drilling axis is arranged horizontally and runs on 2 axes. The X-axis for the length axis and the Y-axis for the height and depth of the beam. By programming, drilling is carried out at the programmed positions of the components. The drilling unit moves along the material, which is fixed at each processing step by a clamping unit that presses on the component from above. Depending on the material used, or the wall thickness and stiffness, the clamping force can be adjusted manually on the drilling unit in order not to deform the component during clamping or the drilling and - center-punching process. The unit has a powerful 10 kW drilling spindle.
The MDL-1000/1B uses Nenok cooling channel drills, with internal cooling, which brings the minimum quantity mixture directly to the cutting edge. This has the advantage that due to the small amount of lubricant, a painting or coating can be done without additional cleaning of the surface.
Alternatively, external lubrication can be activated.
HSS drills can also be used for dry drilling.
The automatic mode offers many advantages compared to manual drilling, such as reproducible hole spacing, faster drilling sequences, optimum cooling of the drills with resulting lower wear
